Cascas is a Performatic instalation based on the utter need of sexual interaction between men in a society were touch, communication and male bonding is constantly repressed.

During a period of 3 months the performer installed different dating apps such as Grindr, Nearox, PlanetRomeo, Badoo and others, in the intention of getting to know the privacy of other men. The performer under the name Alex got explicit information from more than 300 men. They didn't get much information back. Parallel to that a Facebook page called Cascas, would be a way for unknown people to send private information about their sexual and relationships experiences.

From this desperate need to connect Cascas was formed. Angela Camara Correa created several pieces of plastic made of Gustavo Gomes' body and hang them as an instalation were these fake pieces of body would be displayed. Plastic doors and other elements were used as a methaphor for the ultimate barrier of intimacy, the condom. Men with whom the performer engaged into intimate conversation would be called to watch the performance and would be confronted with a naked body where different pieces of it would be displayed like snake skin. The expectator stands unprotected as the performer wonders between different rooms. The decision of following is up to them. Pieces of skin are being left out like online conversations and the invitation keeps on coming as the performer transforms into different things.

Cascas is a reflection on sexual desire, danger and the willingness to connect.
