Rebecca - Frame for Extended Proximities (performance, 45 minutes)

In this multimedia live performace, two rooms are presented to the audience, “The Safe” and “The Connected”. In one of the rooms a projection of the dance performance is shown and in the other the live piece happens. The viewer is confronted with an extended body reality where the performers presence is obsolete and omnipresent since their smell, the sound of the performance and “online” versions of them remains as the performers leaves the room.

Inspired by the prosthetics and body extensions from the German artist Rebecca Horn and the new forms of internet connectivities, this work is as a reflection on isolation, the necessity and fear of touch, the anxieties of networking and the translation of affection through technology.
